Salon: Cafeteria Cool: An interview with Alexandra Robbins (author of "Pledged" and now "The Geeks Shall Inherit the Earth") where she asserts that it is better to have some sort of quirk in highschool because that's what makes you an interesting adult. Also, dealing with unpopularity is character building. I could have given this interview at age 17 (well, I probably wouldn't have been able to articulate it quite this well, but I understood the concept).
Married to the sea: Fishing Pole: Funny because this happened to Mr. Idgie this weekend. Except the turtle weighed 25lbs and had vicious claws.
