Quick summer dinners: Pasta alfredo, K-style

This is a complete 1950s-housewife style dinner, but I don't care.  It's quick, it's easy, it's tasty.

Pasta Alfredo

Ingredients

1 package of Polish sausage, kielbasa, or whatever type of horseshoe-shaped sausage you prefer
1 package of frozen California mix (carrots, broccoli and cauliflower)
1 jar of creamy Alfredo sauce (I use Classico's "light" version)
noodles (I use whole wheat rotini)

Directions
  1. Start a pot of water boiling for the noodles and cook according to the package directions.  I usually use about half of a box.
  2. Slice the sausage into rounds, about 1/4" thick.
  3. Dump the jar of sauce into a large saucepan and turn to medium heat.
  4. Add the bag of California mix and the sausage to the saucepan.
  5. When the noodles are about 1 minute from being done, remove them from the heat and drain them.
  6. Add the noodles to the sauce mixture and toss.  Done!
I know it sounds weird, but it's really quite tasty.  And if you don't like Polish sausage, leftover cooked chicken works nicely too.
